Fat Noodleisn’t new on the scene, in fact I had heard that the food is pretty good. I knew it was located somewhere inside Sydney casino The Star, where, I wasn’t quite sure. What I didn’t know was that Fat Noodle is one of Luke Nyugen’s restaurants. Now, if I had known that bit of information before I may have sought it out earlier. Rated Mark and James’ Kiwi uber driver recommended coming to Fat Noodle for our pre-theatre dinner, on a Monday night (the show, the final Hats Off fundraiser was SO good, an incredible array of performers from the world of musicals and shows). We're very glad to hear that you had such a lovely time and enjoyed your meals, we do hope to see you again with us in Fat Noodle. No doubt an 'off day' but I was disappointed with both the food and the service on my early evening visit.

I ordered an entree chicken skewers and a main massaman beef curry. Within 2 minutes of my lukewarm entree arriving, the main also arrived I mentioned to the waiter that I generally liked to eat my main meal after my entree and he advised that they serve the food when it is ready.

Then I went to tuck in to my main meal and noted that the curry came in a bowl which was filled to the brim and rice came in a separate smaller bowl.

There was no dinner plate to combine the pairing. I thought about putting the rice in the curry bowl, but it would have drowned in the sauce.

I looked around for service but eventually went over to the open kitchen and asked for a plate to eat my meal from. A dinner roll small plate was delivered shortly afterwards.

It made eating my meal difficult, but I wasn't going to complain again. The Massaman curry itself was delicious and beautifully spiced and almost made me forget the other problems, but thought management would like to know.

Tender flavour packed beef, I can see why this is a favourite dish for Fat Noodle diners. Tender juicy boneless chicken thigh, served with fragrant rice which has been cooked in the poaching liquid of the chicken.

Accompanied with fresh ginger and green shallot salsa and greens. A comforting and filling dish which looks simple, but packs a punch in delicate flavours.
